Jane Costello. After ten years of writing bestselling novels as ‘Jane Costello’, I was ready for a change of direction and today I write all my books under the name Catherine Isaac. Although I’d loved writing my romantic comedies, when I came up with the idea for a new book – called ‘You Me Everything’ – it was obvious that it was very different from anything I’d written before. It was my agent’s suggestion to change my name to ‘Catherine Isaac’, which felt like a huge, scary risk given the loyal following I’d built up under my old name. But in the event, ‘You Me Everything’ has been by far my biggest writing success to date: it’s been translated into 24 languages, was selected for the Richard and Judy Book Club, it won the Popular Romantic Fiction award at the RoNAs and a movie is now in development by Lionsgate and Temple Hill. My follow up, ‘Messy, Wonderful Us’ is published in the UK in November 2019 in hardback and ebook, while the paperback is out in March 2020. Of course, first question anyone asks when they meet an author is: ‘What kind of books do you write’? It isn’t an easy question to answer any more because my Catherine Isaac books don’t really fit into a single, defined genre. But they are all stories about family secrets. They’re emotional but funny too. And there’s always a mystery running through the heart of them (I love a good twist). They are novels that give readers something to think about and discuss, with themes that book clubs enjoy. I love hearing from anyone who’s read them, so please do write an Amazon review if you’re so inclined – or get in touch with me direct, on Twitter @CatherineIsaac_ , Facebook @Catherineisaacauthor, or Instagram @catherineisaacauthor. You’ll find those accounts full of book news, but lots about my gang too – me, my husband Mark, our three boys and dog Maisie. I still live in Liverpool and, as well as my writing, I also love running, walking in the Lake District and baking cakes of variable quality. Will recommend this book to all my friends. Top reviews from other countries. I was really looking forward to reading Jane’s new release All The Single Ladies. The last book of hers I read was Girl on The Run which I absolutely loved. This book I also enjoyed but with hand on heart can’t say it’s my favourite. We meet Sam Brooks as she is going through turmoil. Her boyfriend Jamie has decided that as much as he loves her he has to fulfil his dream of travelling. With that in mind Jamie decides to break it off with Sam, and she in turn makes it her mission to win him back no matter what. I liked Sam and felt so sorry for her, but to be honest about a quarter of the way in I wanted to shake some sense into the girl. I liked her, but her obsession with winning Jamie back had begun to grate a little on my nerves! However, although I was somewhat irritated, with the appearance of Ben her new man the story took a major upturn. The second half of the book was absolutely brilliant and I found myself smirking and laughing as Sam got herself deeper and deeper into trouble with her ridiculous situations. One thing I also enjoyed was meeting Sam’s friends Jen and Ellie and seeing what happened to them. They were both lovely characters but with their own issue and flaws.
